PROJECT 1A
THE NATURE JOURNAL
For the individual part of this project, students were required to make their own nature journal based on the "Earth (2007)" on YouTube to identify the different elements of nature and to describe the different characteristics of nature by exploring the basic elements such as natural topography, landscape and so on.The content requires our observations, extended research and reflection on the things that we have been documenting and experiencing, and what interest us the most.
According to the brief, the nature journal should include the followings:
(a) Introduction of ourself
(b) Summarize and express on how we feel about the movie
(c) Describe minimum 3 characteristics for 3 flora, 3 fauna, 2 topography and 2 phenomena.
(d) Elaborate our favourite scene in the movie.
(e) Elaborate 1 environmental issue in that we have discovered from the movie.
(f) Reflection about nature
Reflection
Throughout this project, I have learnt how to trace images from the computer, how to make a journal from my observations and also I have learnt how to use watercolour.
In addition, this project gave me a big memory as this was my first time having an assignment in my college.
In conclusion, this project enhanced my observation skills and my art skills.
Taylor's Graduate Capabilities:
Discipline Specific Knowledge - Learn how to do a journal
Lifelong learning - Learn how to express my feelings and thoughts into words and pictures
PROJECT 1B
For this group project, respective groups were required to make a miniature shelter in nature through info graphic posters. Everyone in FNBE compulsory have to go to Janda Baik for a site visit and collect information before heading back to KL. We also have to build a shelter for assigned character.
According to the brief, miniature shelter in nature through info graphic posters should include the followings:
(a) Each group should choose 1 or a combination of 2 of the earth components such as atmosphere, hydrosphere, geosphere and biosphere
(b) Find a main suitable site (approx. 2500mm x 2500mm size)
(c) Within the main site, select a shelter site (approx. 500-1000mm x 500-1000mm)
(d) We are required to do a site study including site survey, site inventory and site analysis
(e) Each group will be assigned to an animal and to study and justify the needs of the character in terms of its nature and adaptation
PROGRESSION
During the progression, the first thing we did was planning out the layout. Then, we assign work for each person and if there is any problems, we will talk it out on our Whatsapp group as it is very hard for us to find out time to do it together.
FINAL BOARDS
Reflection
Throughout this group project, I have learnt that communication played a big part in this assignment. Without communication, this group assignment will not be conducted smoothly. Besides, having a good time management is also very important. Group assignment is all about sacrificing your own sweet time to work this assignment well.
In addition, I have learnt that organizing a good layout played an important role too. Without a good layout, the flow of the boards will be very odd and confuse for the lecturers.
Conclusion, I have enjoyed this group project but at the same time not because it is hard to find time to meet as everyone has different schedule.
Taylor's Graduate Capabilities:

PROJECT 2A
My "X" Hometown Infographic Pamphlet
For this individual project, students were required to make a pamphlet about my "X" hometown. Before doing the pamphlet, students have to choose a town or city of our origin and to choose a specific area to study in detail. Then find the information according to the requirement and compile it into infographic pamphlet.
According to our brief, My “X” Hometown infographic pamphlet should include the followings :
(a) History of our township
(b) Landmark of our township
(c) Main accessibility to our township
(d) Include key plan, location plan and site plan. Location plan and site plan must be at least an A4 size infographic map
(e) Include tangible components such as zoning of different category or typology of buildings, road circulation and transportation, existing facilities and public space
(f) Include intangible components such as culture, activity, safety at the area
(g) Include our favourite sentimental part of the area
(h) Conclude and justify our township with ideas of improvements
Reflection
Throughout this project, I have learnt how to make an infographic pamphlet and understand the details about my hometown. For example, the zoning of the township, road circulation public transports that can access into my hometown and many more. Especially for the road circulation, it’s something that I will not recognize. This is because I am well known for not having a sense of directions.
In addition, I have also found out that I have a lot of memories made in my hometown without realizing it. My hometown is definitely the perfect hometown because it has everything we need. So for the conclusion on how to improve my hometown, not only to rebuild and repair facilities that are in bad condition, to make my hometown a better place is to reduce accidents and also lessen the burden of the people in puchong. This is because I love my hometown. By improving the township is good but remaining some old buildings will bring back some nostalgic feeling to the people in Puchong.
Taylor's Graduate Capabilities:
Discipline Specific Knowledge - Learn how to do a pamphlet
Lifelong Learning - Learn how to access into my hometown and also familiar with road circulation.
PROJECT 2B

From the chosen site, each group has to select a street about 100-200m distance to conduct site investigation. Everyone are required to go to the respective site by train to observe the surroundings while in the train.
According to the brief, street intervention should include the followings :
(a) Macro study
- History of our site
- Key plan and location plan of our site, sun path and etc
- Accessibility and landmarks of our site
- Site zoning about 100-200m radius
(b) Micro study
- Distance and time between 2 places and crowd density
- Street Context
- Zoning of the site and type of space
- Accessibility and road circulation
- Traffic, junction and transportation
- Façade study (colour scheme/architectural style)
- Public facilities and amenities
- Activities, social, business, culture and 5 sensory of place
- special features at the street
PROGRESSION
After the site visit, we begun our project by doing the layout and find more information about the street like history. Then after that, we assigned work to each person. Because our group consists of 7 members including me and we were doing digitally and manually, so half of the members find information and send to the others to do the boards. Besides, me and the other two members found time to do the 2D pop up street intervention together at Taylor's University.
